Parks & Pen Productions is the newest face in family-owned, independently produced entertainment and talent management. It’s name serves as a reminder of the nights our founder Johnny Thornhill spent sleeping in parks while homeless, and his time behind bars on the road to finding his calling.

As a child, Johnny dreamed about being in movies. There was just one problem, neither him nor his parents thought it was realistic, and he moved on to finding a “safe” career. Denying his passion lead to depression, constantly changing jobs, homelessness, and run-ins with the law.

Then in December of 2024, just months away from earning his bachelor’s degree in business administration, a sales ad came across his Facebook feed for the casting website Backstage. Johnny signed up and booked his first role just a few weeks later in an independently produced horror film titled The Laksman.

Now he has set his sights even higher: bringing his own ideas and life experience to the silver screen to tell original stories that matter.
